Maintaining Professional Knowledge - Staying Humanly Connected

Dr. Yochi Siman Tov is a lecturer, consultant, and expert in crisis, emergency, and suicidology. For years she led professional processes in the educational system, accompanied complex situations, and developed a professional theory that provides educators, parents, and organizations with knowledge, confidence, and actionability.

From the field, the system, and the human encounter.

In 2003 Dr. Yochi Siman Tov established the Crisis, Emergency and Suicide Response Unit in the Psychological-Counseling Service of the Ministry of Education, and directed it for 18 years. In that capacity she was involved in treatment and professional interventions in thousands of cases of crises, disasters and extreme events.

Over the years she developed, together with professionals, a unique working theory that seeks to provide real-time response, even in the hours when formal systems struggle to react. This knowledge became lectures, consultation, briefings, articles, and a recent professional book summarizing this work.

Even within pain – a person has strengths. Recovery, ability to return to functioning, and later – even growth from the crisis.

I believe in human strengths, even when facing difficult realities. I believe optimism is not denial of pain, but the ability to see within it a foothold. I believe connection, listening, and encouragement can create deep change – among children, adults, teams, and organizations.
